Spiritual Aggression Debut the Ultimate Death Metal Love Story ‘Ghost of My Dead Wife’
Born out of grief, a dark death metal love story was created in tribute of a lost loved one from cancer.
Spiritual Aggression is a new music project created by the Ghost who threw his broken heart into the vocals, guitars and more, and Rob “The Wizzard” Shallcross who loyally provided the drums.
This project was a labour of love between two old friends and meant to be fun. It helped them connect and grieve the loss of the Ghost’s wife of twenty-five years who passed from cancer. They didn’t plan to release the collaboration but thought it captured something special and wanted to share.

This is a demonstration of what is to come in the future as the two old friends are working on their next collaboration.
Death comes for us all. the Ghost comes for vengeance.
Four years ago, a man said goodbye to his wife of twenty-five years after a devastating battle with cancer. What followed was collapse. A slow descent into grief, rage, and emptiness. The kind of loss that hollows a person out and leaves something else behind. Grief, the greatest of villains, began to rot him from within. He raged at the world. At the disease that took her. At the life that remained. And yet… she never left. He felt her presence. Watching. Guiding. He reached for his guitar. She answered. From that moment, “Only In My Dreams” was born — the first transmission from something no longer entirely human.
The man was gone. In his place stood something else:
A faceless, nameless entity. A wraith shaped by love, loss, and vengeance.
the Ghost.
Seeking to give form to what he had become, the Ghost turned to longtime friend Rob Shallcross, known as “The Wizzard.” After hearing the music, The Wizzard knew immediately this was something rare: raw, devastating, and undeniable. What began as a connection became a collaboration. Together, they forged Spiritual Aggression and its debut album Ghost of My Dead Wife.
A record born from grief, driven by something deeper. A love that transcends death. A presence that still guides every note. Spiritual Aggression delivers a fresh take on metal, blending raw emotion with crushing heaviness, melodic hooks, and haunting atmosphere. This is music that doesn’t just sound heavy, it feels heavy. the Ghost performs every instrument (excluding drums) on the album, channelling something deeply personal into every riff, every lyric, every note.
The result is relentless: Blistering melodic guitar work; Thunderous double kicks; Ferocious yet intelligible gutturals; and moments of eerie, melodic clarity. This is not just an album — it’s an experience. When you listen, you’ll feel it, the Ghost… right behind you. Through the Wizzard’s incendiary drum work and production, and the Ghost’s singular vision, this project became more than music. It became healing. And now, it stands as an offering to anyone who has ever lost someone they love.
You are not alone. We’ve got your back.
A Message From “the Ghost”
“Four years ago my wife passed away due to cancer. She was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, apparently with no cure. After twenty-five years I lost the love of my life. I have never felt so empty in my entire existence. I had no idea how I would process this after her life slowly faded away in front of me. Watching her do chemo therapy, with a projected life span of two weeks, I kept her with me for nine months before she finally passed. I was so sad. There are no words to describe how terrible this experience was for me. After her passing, the first song on the record “Only In My Dreams” came to me. I put this together and my good friend of many years “The Wizzard” Rob Shallcross said to share it. It touched him so deeply, as he saw what I was going through. By releasing it I thought it may help the healing process and help others heal who may be able to relate. I was very fortunate to find someone like her and to enjoy twenty-five amazing years of partnership.
To everyone that lost a loved one to cancer, you’re not alone. This album is dedicated to her.”
Quote from Rob
“One of my oldest friends reached out after his wife passed due to cancer, 4 years ago. He was absolutely devastated. He asked me to collaborate on the album Ghost of My Dead Wife as the drummer and producer. I was so busy I didn’t know if it was possible at the time. It finally came together and I thought it would help his grieving. When we finished the mixes, that was the first time I saw any kind of joy in him. He is an amazing human being and a mega talent, and I am very grateful to be apart of his creation and his life!
-Long Live the Ghost”
